This year’s 40th Annual Topper Gala and Auction proved to be a resounding success due to the support of our many donors, participants, volunteers and students! This year marked 40 years of celebrating St. Mary’s/Catholic Central High School and all of the accomplishments realized, due to the generosity extended in conjunction with this event. Over $171,200 was brought in through sponsorships, Fund-A-Need, the live/silent auction, the cash/car lease drawing, raffles, Heads or Tails game and dinner reservations.
The evening began with Principal Brian Shimon’s fabulous welcome address, then, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Edward Foy, made a heartfelt speech about the importance of a Catholic education and the importance of continuing to support Catholic Central High School. Current parent, Ryan Fain, also took the mic and spoke on behalf of the school’s plan to refurbish the bathrooms on the second and third floor of the main building. This project would include: enclosing the exposed utility lines, more spacious stalls, new plumbing fixtures, restroom accessories, updated heating, and new lighting to bring functionality and light into the space. This renovation would bring the restrooms into the present day and provide a more proper and comfortable environment that will last for many years to come. The cost to upgrade the bathrooms will be $140,000-$160,000. As of today, $28,700 has been collected and another $20,000 has been pledged.
